List of Naruto Shippuden Movies in Order:

  • 2007: Naruto Shippuden The Movie

This is the first movie in the Shippuden series but is actually the fourth one based on the Naruto Series. This was released in Japan on August 4, 2007, which was written by Junki Takegami and directed by Hajime Kamegaki.

In this movie, a group of ninja is planning to revive a powerful demon called Mouryou and reunite it with its body. When this happens, the world is believed to be destroyed. The only way to stop this from happening is for a shrine maiden named Shion to seal the demon away forever.

Naruto Uzumaki needs to protect Shion and guard her against other bad ninjas. Beside Shion’s power to seal away the demon, she can also predict death and foresee the future. Shion believes to foresee Naruto’s death approaching very near. To escape this faith, Naruto must stay away from the maiden but he chooses to challenge the prophecy to protect Shion and the world.

The duration of the movie is 1 hr and 34 minutes and is rated PG-13.

  • 2008: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: Bonds

This is the second film on the Shippuden Series that aired on Aug. 2, 2008, in Japan. The story revolves around the attack on Konoha by a ninja of the Land of Sky. Naruto’s journey on this movie is to save the villagers and inhabitants from massive destruction by the Land of Dire during the second great ninja war.

Sakura, Hinata, and Amaru will be accompanying Naruto in this journey. There will be a plot twist to this film, especially with new characters. In addition to more action scenes, this movie will also show Naruto’s improved fighting skills.

The DVD and Blu-ray in the English version are already available on Amazon.

  • 2009: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: Inheritors of the Will of Fire

The Inheritors of the Will of Fire is the third installment in the Shippuden Series and the sixth movie based on the Naruto Series. This film is all about the coming Fourth Great Ninja World War. Ninjas from the villages of Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Iwagakure, and Sunagakure begin to disappear, which leads to suspicions that Konohagakure is behind the disappearances.

Naruto’s adventure begins by racing against time and finding out who the real enemy is, behind the disappearances of ninjas with Kekkei Genkai abilities.

This film was released in Japan on August 1, 2009, but DVD version came in on Oct. 2012.

  • 2010: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: The Lost Tower

Naruto Uzumaki in this film is trying to find a missing-nin who has traveled in the past to take the Five Great Shinobi Countries with the use of Ryukyaku power. The missing-nin has done so much damage in time and Naruto with his troupe will be stopping the nin to prevent permanent damage that can change the history.

In this film, Naruto will be fighting for his destiny while helping the Queen of Loran, Sara. He will be fighting with a lot of strong characters that will test his patience, dedication, and love for his friends.

The Naruto Shippuden: The Lost Tower was released on July 31, 2010. DVD and Blu-ray were released in the United States on Sept. 2013.

  • 2011: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: Blood Prison

Based on its title, Blood Prison, is about Naruto Uzumaki’s journey in a prison that no one can escape. He is locked out due to false charges of the attempted assassination of the Raikage of the Hidden Cloud Village. He is also imprisoned for the murder of jonins from other villages. The story revolves around Naruto’s journey to get out of prison to prove his innocence.

New characters such as female ninja called Ryuzetsu will be introduced in this film. Ryuzetsu was also framed by some members of her village for a crime she did not commit. She will be fighting alongside Naruto until the end.

The Blood Prison was released in Japan theaters on July 30, 2011. Blu-ray and DVD are available in the United States on Feb. 18, 2014.

  • 2012: Road to Ninja: Naruto The Movie

The sixth film on the Shippuden Series is the Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie. This movie is a little bit different because it will show an alternative universe where Naruto’s parents are still alive and all his friends have the exact opposite of their personalities.

In this movie, Naruto will showcase different emotions, longing, confusion and a lot of fighting scenes to stop a villain named Tobi. This masked ninja unleashed the Nine-Tailed beast, which is part of Naruto.

The Road to Ninja movie was released on July 28, 2012, in Japan theaters. This film is a box-office hit with $3,799,276 in earnings. The Blu-ray version and DVD was released in the United States on Nov. 25, 2014.

  • 2014: The Last: Naruto The Movie

Naruto embarks on his final story overcoming great danger on a mission to save Hanabi and the world. Hanabi was captured by a mysterious enemy, Toneri Otsutsuki, which mistakes her for the elder sister Hinata. As the moon draws near the Earth, which will destroy everything in an instant, Naruto finds himself racing with time, saving Hinata, Hanabi, Sai, Shikamaru, and Sakura.

In the countdown to destroy humanity, Naruto will be fighting with villains and the greatest of all, Toneri Otsutsuki.

The Last movie was released on Dec. 6, 2014 in Japan theaters. It earns $19.84 million, considered as a box office.


After the last movie, an extra film called Boruto: Naruto The Movie was released on Aug. 7, 2015. In this film, Naruto and Hinata’s son Boruto was taken by Sasuke as his pupil. Buruto wants to defeat his dad on a duel and he needs Sasuke’s help to make this happen.

Another disaster happened, which revealed Kaguya Otsutsuki’s relatives’ attack on Earth. This will be another adventure that will reunite Team 7 with Boruto to stop the evil from destroying the Earth. Boruto: Naruto the Movie is the last installment in the Naruto series.

Meanwhile, in the real world, this character is also legendary. Son Goku, Sailor Moon, and Naruto are some of the ambassadors of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics happening on July 24, 2020. Naruto will be one of the mascots that will entertain viewers, players and the people watching the Olympics.
