When Will Noragami Season 3 Be Released?
To date, after a year and a half, Noragami creator Adachitoka has finally decided to break the manga’s hiatus and resume its serialization. Although BONES studios have not yet confirmed anything about the possibility of having a third season, many believe that the return of Noragami’s manga series would surely lead to a third installment.
“We feel that Noragami Season 3 may be released in late 2019 or as far as 2020. For now, nothing has been confirmed,” an article published in Akanagi stated.
According to Trinikid, the third season of Noragami will be focusing on Yato’s true identity and his relationship with his father. Fans are also expecting to see Yato’s journey into becoming a “God of Fortune.”
Moreover, various articles have also suggested the possibility of Nora becoming the next enemy of Yato in the next season.

“Yato wants to be the god with millions of worshippers, and now Bishamon has finally forgiven him for killing his first family. And Yato is working on acquiring allies, in Noragami Season 3 Yato will be facing his previous regalia, Nora. It is expected that she will be seeking revenge as Yato made the decision to let her go, this might turn her into Yato’s next enemy as she has a twisted sense of morality and we may see a terrifying side of her.”
About Noragami Anime Series
If you’re a fan of urban fantasy anime, and haven’t heard of Noragami let’s get you up to speed. Also known as Stray God, Noragami is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Adachitoka. It was first aired on Japanese television on January 5, 2014 and was again rolled out on October 2, 2015 for Season 2.
Following the story of Yato, a minor deity, the series offers a sweet, unique, and action-packed fantasy adventure as Yato set out to make a bigger name for himself as the ultimate god.
Season 1: How Did All Start?
The story of Noragami begins with Iki Hiyori, an average middle school girl. One day, she got into an accident, causing her soul to start slipping out of her body from time to time. Given the new ability, Hiyori found herself being able to travel between two parallel worlds, namely the Far Shore, where human souls and demons wander around, and the Near Shore, where humans and animals reside.
One day, she met a strange unknown deity named Yato. Desperate to make a name for himself and create millions of followers, Yato plans to build his own shrine by accepting wishes for 5 yen. Yearning to get back to her old normal life, Hiyori, in turn, asks Yato, along with Yukine (a Shinki of Yato) to help her regain her body. From there, the trio sets out on a fun and action-packed adventure filled with comic-relief and drama as they attempt to fulfill Hiyori’s wish.
Season 2: Towards Where?
The second season, titled Noragami Aragoto, was premiered about a year later, on October 2, 2015, with a total of 13 episodes. Following the story of Yato in his quest towards having his own temple and accumulating millions of followers, the second season of Noragami focuses more on the past of Yato and his dark relations with other gods.
In the said franchise, the relationship between Yato and the god of war Bishamon was also put into a highlight. From there, viewers were able to discover the long and deep history behind Bishamon’s grudge against Yato, Moreover, Yato’s encounter with the good of fortune, Ebisu also played a huge part in the progress of the story.
As we all know, the second season ended in a cliffhanger, with Hiyori wishing for Yato to become a God of Fortune and Fujisaki being revealed to be Yato’s and Nora’s Father and is the current holder of the locution brush Ebisu.

Considered to be a God of calamity, Rabō stands as one of the main antagonists in the story. Most recognized for his silver hair and right-yellowed eye, nothing else is known about him. However, he is often portrayed carrying a sword and is known to be very calculative in developing a plan.
Daikoku stands as a father figure to both Yato and Kofuku. Serving as the Shinki of Kofuku, he always tries to be protective over her. He is portrayed with shoulder-length black hair and a muscular built. When he is in Kokki form, he transforms into a Japanese fan.
Kuraha is one of Bishamonten’s Shinki. He always wears a smart suit and is portrayed to have grey hair and beard. Kuraha transforms into a lion with a scar on his right eye when he is in his regalia form.
Nora is a former Shini of Yato’s as well as Ebisu. She was originally portrayed to be very gentle and seems to care deeply for Yato. However, it was later revealed that her care for Yato made her violent, manipulative, and greedy. She has short black hair and wears a white robe with red-yellow sash.
Kazuma is one of Bishamonten’s Shinki and is the delegated to be the first in command. He turns into an earring having flower shape when he is in his Shinki form and can track enemies.
Hiyori is one of the main characters in Norogami. She has the ability to leave her human body and travel to both the Near Shore and the Far Shore universe.
Yukine is a Shinki of Yato. Like Hiyori, he is one of the main characters in the series. He has the ability to transform into a silver Ōdachi when the word “Sekki” is called
She is considered to be the Goddess of Poverty. Although portrayed to be a bit of an airhead, Kofuku is very loving to those with whom she is friends with.
Bishamonten is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune and is considered the goddess of war and warriors. She has a long vengeance with Yato and vowed to make his life become miserable.
Yato is the main protagonist of Noragami. He dreams to set up his own temple, become a notable god, and gain millions of followers. He wants to call himself the God of Fortune; however, many think the label God of Calamity and Depression suits him more.
